April 15, 2016 –
In April the Guild will welcome Karen L. Miller, who will be coming to us from the Finger Lakes Region of the state. Her website ~ www.redbirdquiltco.com showcases her love of wool and cotton applique. Karen is also a contributor of “recipes” to the Moda Bake Shop online quilter’s resource of patterns and tutorials, where her original designs for various aspects of quilting are available to the quilting world.
On Friday, April 15, Karen will conduct a class on creating a sweet home décor pillow with some simple piecing, a little quilting, and some (optional) wool embellishments. What’s awesome is that we can make two pillows with just one jelly roll and some added yardage.
The free pattern and supply list for the Hearts Content Pillow is available for download below. A limited number of copies of the pattern will be available at the March meeting for anyone who isn’t able to get it online.
The class will be a full day workshop at the Grace Church, from 9:30 – 4:00. There will be a $20 workshop fee for members, $25 for non-members. Please send your registration to Te Pabon (see registration form for all information).
On Saturday, April 16, Karen will lecture and share her trunk show of creations at our regular Guild meeting.
