Our 2025 Guild Challenge will be a Clue Mystery Project! Each person chooses three cards from a standard “Clue” game (a person, a weapon, a room). The Clue Mystery Project is where you choose a suspect Clue card, a weapon Clue card, and a room Clue card and then represent those three ‘clues’ somehow in their quilt. The people (Professor Plum, Ms. Scarlet etc) could be easy as they can represent the color (but they don’t have to), the rooms and weapons will be the tricky part.
Ideas: The Rope … could be a rope quilting motif, or a couched thread as an embellishment. The Lead Pipe … something grey, something long and thin. The Conservatory … use floral fabric, applique flowers and vines…
Examples: Mrs Peacock in the Dining Room with the Revolver could be Peacock feathers forming a Dresden Plate (dining room), quilted in concentric circles (revolver). Another example might be to appliqué a purple apron with an embroidered knife cutting a tomato and your clues would be Professor Plum, with a knife in the kitchen. Use your imagination and have fun with this project.
